Raeda Fathi Hamra ( October 29, 1988 ) is a Palestinian-Jordanian journalist. She was born in Kuwait to a family from the Palestinian city of Tulkarm . She works as a news broadcaster and program presenter on a number of Arab and international channels, including the Jordanian Roya satellite channel and the American Sawa Radio in Washington , D.C. . She holds a number of prestigious Arab and international awards in the journalistic and media fields.

Its origins

Raeda Fathi Hamra was born on October 29, 1988 in the State of Kuwait to a family from the Palestinian city of Tulkarm . She received her education in private schools in Kuwait until middle school, then moved with her family to Jordan to complete her high school studies there, majoring in information management.

Academic achievement

I obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism, specializing in radio and television, and a diploma in political science from Yarmouk University in northern Jordan in 2009 with an honors degree. I also obtained a master’s degree in modern media from the Jordan Media Institute at the University of Jordan in 2014 with a very good grade.

Her professional career in Jordan

She began her career as a reporter, news broadcaster, and program presenter for a number of Jordanian, Iraqi, and Emirati channels in the capital, Amman . She also worked as head of the investigative reports department on the Jordanian Roya satellite channel , and worked as a presenter for the “Fourth Dimension” program for investigative reports on Roya , and a correspondent for Radio Sawa. American forces in Jordan from 2013 to 2014 .

Her career in the United States

In 2015 , Hamra moved from Amman to Washington, D.C. , to work as a news anchor for the American Sawa Radio . During her work, she presented video field reports that reflected stories of Arab Americans, and the most important archaeological, political, and economic landmarks in Washington , D.C. , in addition to live coverage of the 2016 U.S. presidential elections and debates. Politics among the contenders for the presidency of the White House , and a survey of Arab-American demands and opinions regarding the candidates for the US presidency, in addition to providing live coverage on Radio Sawa - whose waves reach all Arab countries - for the night of US President Donald Trump’s victory over his rival to the White House, Hillary Clinton.

Her scientific research

Her master’s thesis was titled “News Channels’ Receipt and Verification of Investigations Attributed to Armed Islamic Groups in the Arab Spring Period,” and the research was published in both Arabic and English.

Awards

Raeda Hamra receiving the Thomson Reuters Journalism Award in London in 2011 .
She won first place in the British Thomson Reuters International Award for the category of television investigations for the year 2011 , during her work with Roya satellite channel , and she was honored in Britain as the first Arab-Jordanian journalist to receive this award. 

In 2011, she won first place in the ARIJ Network Award for Investigative Journalism for her investigation entitled “The Hashemite Chaos of Money and the Environment.” 

In 2012, she won the ARIJ Network Award for the best televised investigative report titled “Armymin, Prisoner of Pollution,” which she prepared and presented.

It won the award for the best Arab report on awareness of the dangers of breast cancer for the year 2012. It was honored by Her Highness Princess Dina Mired , founder and general director of the King Hussein Cancer Center .

She won the award for the best investigative report for the year 2013 for her regional investigation - filmed between Jordan and the Emirates - which was titled “The Ghost of Balqa.” The investigation revealed a fraud that took place between senior officials to open a fake Jordanian university in three emirates in the Emirates . Those universities that were exposed were closed. The investigation revealed its secrets and those behind it.

She prepared and presented - via Roya Channel - an investigation by “Watan Brokers” about the Jordanian parliamentary elections, in which Hamra revealed the operations of buying, selling, and falsifying the votes of Jordanian voters in those elections that were held in 2013
