The Palestinian girl, Samar Al-Kurdi, began realizing her dreams early to become the first girl to work as a basketball “referee” in the Gaza Strip.
After graduating from the Faculty of Physical Education at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza, she was chosen along with 4 other girls who were chosen from among 20 Gazan girls, who underwent a training course to select the best among them, so that she would be the best.
Now, Samar is looking at the international level, as she is currently awaiting acceptance from the University of Leipzig in Germany, to participate in an international basketball coaches course, lasting approximately 5 months, through which she also aspires to obtain the international refereeing badge.
