Background:

Diana Al Shaer is half Palestinian and half Russian. Her father relocated from Palestine to the Russian Federation in 1975 and established the Alfares Equestrian Club in Zavidovo, Russia.

Representation of Palestine:

Al Shaer represented Palestine at the 2022 World Equestrian Games in Herning. She competed in the individual dressage competition with her horse, Unazalee de Massa. Notably, she became the second Palestinian to participate in the World Equestrian Games, following Christian Zimmermann, and the first Arab woman at the Dressage World Championships.

Training in The Netherlands:

Currently, Al Shaer resides in The Netherlands, where she trains with Danish Olympian Anne van Olst. Her training is focused on qualification and preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
