A
Palestinian PhD student, Youssef Awad Abu Sal, obtained a patent for developing
a device for measuring the friction coefficient of rocks and minerals, which he
accomplished in cooperation with a team working at the Russian University of
Ufa.
The
invention, which was registered in the Russian Invention Circle, contributes to
the development of the oil and gas industries, and will allow research in
conditions of increased axial loads of rocks and minerals with maximum
measurement accuracy and preliminary studies for drilling wells in difficult
conditions.
Abu
Sal, who teaches in the Department of Oil and Gas Well Drilling Engineering at
Ufa University, Federal Russia, published a series of researches in
international scientific journals in the field of oil and gas wells, in
addition to co-authoring three booklets in the development of laboratory and
academic work that were adopted within the curricula of the University of Ufa.
He also participated in an international scientific conference in China as a
representative of the university.
Abu
Sil is currently working on registering two new patents in the oil and gas
industry, as they are being verified by the Invention Department in Russia.
The
Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation, Abd al-Hafiz
Nofal, congratulated the student Abu Sal on this important scientific
achievement, and considered it an indication of the creative capabilities of
our people, and an important personal achievement in the scientific biography
of the student Abu Sal.
