Student Walaa
Murtaja from the Department of Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences
at the Islamic University of Gaza won first place in the Arab world in the Arab
Challenge competition for the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence,
which was held at the GITEX International Exhibition in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates.
Contributing
to the project presented by Walaa, the student Moamen Al-Sammak and the student
Ali Obaid - from Al-Azhar University, and it was titled: (Smart air mattress).
The idea of the project is to provide assistance in turning bedridden patients
to prevent bedsores, instead of manual turning to save time and effort on
caregivers.
It is
noteworthy that the victory came amid strong competition with a large number of
nominated projects and startups from eleven Arab countries.
