Information

Nafie Al-Aboushi is a Palestinian (born in 1877 in Jenin , Palestine - died in 1929 in Palestine ).

his life

He was one of the prominent national figures of Palestine at the beginning of the twentieth century, as he was a member of the first Palestinian Arab Conference in 1919.

He was elected as a representative of the city of Jenin with Haider Abdel Hadi to attend the Arab Conference, which sent a telegram to the General Peace Conference against making Palestine a national home for the Jews.
He also attended the Seventh Palestinian Arab Conference held in Jerusalem between 20 and 27 August 1928.

The poet Burhan al-Din al-Aboushi, in his play The Homeland of the Martyr, published in 1947, referred to the role of Nafeh al-Aboushi, which is to give the right opinion. And that is by not paying attention to distraction with words, but rather walking on a clear path. Its basis is piety and reliance on strength, which is symbolized by al-Hassam:

Liberals, the time has passed Arab men play with words
Draw for people with piety Sunnah And they abandoned the saying and tightened the hussam

He was also a member of the municipality of Jenin during the period of Ottoman rule in the city.

And what was mentioned by the late Muhammad Azza Darwazah in his memoirs regarding the first Palestinian conference , on the authority of Nafie Al-Aboushi:

“And among those whom we knew and trusted with in the conference was Nafie Al-Aboushi, and he had a leadership appearance and one of the useful elements in the conference. And he remained on that until God took him.”

Conferences attended

The first Palestinian conference held in 1919.
The Fourth Palestinian Congress held in 1921.

The Seventh Palestinian Arab Conference held in 1928.
The Islamic Conference for the Defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic Holy Places held in 1928.

his death

He died in 1929, when a great funeral was held for him, attended by the great Palestinian poet Ibrahim Touqan , who lamented him at that time with poetic verses that are still written on his grave to this day in the eastern cemetery of Jenin.

his elegy

I would crave "useful" if it was of benefit to him For my breath.. and there is no benefit in death
They carried him to a grave surrounded by it Of the majesty, followers and followers
His homelands whale in its hollow, so tomorrow As if it is a heart and it is ribs
O home, in its wealth its masters are absent
