This invention is an “automated robot” that enables people who suffer from hemiplegia to walk without the need for a wheelchair.”
Engineer Najdi won the first international prize, estimated at one million dollars, to support a project to produce a “smart structure” for children suffering from cerebral palsy, outperforming projects from various countries of the world.

In an interview with Al-Quds website, Yara Najdi said that her efforts were culminated in the invention of an “external artificial skeleton” that is an “automated robot that enables people who suffer from hemiplegia to walk without the need for a wheelchair,” explaining that this invention was achieved in cooperation. Between her university, UC Berkeley in the United States of America, and SuitX, with the participation of 12 researchers.

Engineer Najdi and her work team applied for an award in the United Arab Emirates that is given to projects that support humanity, and won the first international award estimated at one million dollars, (the Emirates Award for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for the Service of Humanity) to support a project to produce a “smart skeleton” for children who suffer from cerebral palsy, outperforming projects from different countries of the world.

Najdi said that she is working on designing “a report that helps children who suffer from an inability to control the lower part of the body to get rid of the crutch or wheelchair that causes them health problems in the future, through the use of innovative technology by installing artificial limbs over the natural limbs so that Its movement is controlled by a small computer attached to the patient’s waist.” She said, “The tragedies of war and the casualties it leaves behind among young men, the elderly, and children who have lost the ability to move, including those who became famous as a result of the recent war on the Gaza Strip, in addition to the support of her parents, prompted her to participate in designing A device that alleviates the suffering of these victims.”
