The Guinness Book of World Records recorded the Palestinian young man, Mahmoud Abu Ghosh (20 years old), as the youngest information security researcher in the year 2013. The young man residing in Gaza City is waiting to travel in the coming days to receive the title and participate in an international information security conference.
Mahmoud studies information technology at a university in Gaza, and he had no background in information security before one of his friends advised him to attend a dialogue session and a workshop on information security via video conference.
The Palestinian young man then became curious to follow conferences and follow them via the Internet in all countries of the world, and he used the night and silence to read peer-reviewed research on information security and develop himself on his own in the absence of official sponsorship for Palestinian talents.
After two months of attending conferences and listening only to the solutions, advice, and warnings presented, Mahmoud Abu Ghosh broke the barrier of fear and dread and began asking, discussing, and taking his words and advice into consideration. He became aware of everything that was presented.
Title
In an interview with Al Jazeera Net, Mahmoud tells the story of how he obtained the title from Guinness, where he said that he participated, via video conference, in a conference in Belgium specialized in refereeing scientific research for several journals, including five research papers for a German magazine, including a research paper by an American professor on the security of the social networking site (Facebook).
He continued, "The American professor's study was for a year, and when he came to review his research, the feature he relied on in his research was suspended from the site, and he had no knowledge of that. When I informed them that the matter was over, my recommendation was approved and the research paper was cancelled."
Mahmoud explained, "Then the German magazine contacted me and they were surprised that I was young and that I lived in Gaza, a place suffocated by problems, siege and suffering. They gave me two scholarships to attend their annual conference in addition to publishing my own research."
He added, "The magazine broke publishing conditions for my sake, including the requirement that the researcher obtain a master's degree as a minimum and that he had previously published a peer-reviewed research paper and paid a large sum of money."
The Palestinian young man received the title after he was approved to publish a research paper on information security in a European journal.

It so happened that the results and recommendations of Mahmoud Abu Ghosh regarding the security of smart devices and wireless networks in the sector, which he conducted a study on for only a week, coincided with the results of research and studies conducted by the German government for three years, which reached the point he reached in a week, according to what he mentioned.
