The Ministry of Education and Higher Education - General Administration of Educational Technologies honored the winning teams in the national competition for the World Robot Olympiad in the field of “Innovators of the Future” / Palestine - Gaza Strip.
Dr. participated in the honoring, which was held at the headquarters of the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza. Ahmed Abu Nada, Director General of Educational Technologies, and Mr. Imad Labad, Director of the Educational Resources Department, and Mr. Ziad Barakat, Head of the Educational Methods Department, heads of technology departments in the directorates, and a number of participating teachers and students.

Abu Nada stressed that students have distinctive creative energies, and the Ministry and schools are constantly stimulating these energies through curricula, classes, organizing exhibitions, competitions and scientific projects, pointing out that the robot project is a global project and is a worthy idea that serves reality, so we provide it with all support and encouragement.

Abu Nada wished the winning students excellence, creativity, and good preparation to represent Palestine in the Olympics, which will be held in November 2022 in the German city of Dortmund.

 

The two creative students, Ibrahim Saeed Abu Al-Rous from Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani School and his sister Malak Saeed Abu Al-Rous from Beit Al-Maqdis Secondary School for Girls from the Khan Yunis District, won first place in the competition in Palestine in the field of Future Innovators. This was done through their design of the smart home garden robot GardeBot, which was supervised by their father, M. Saeed Abu Al-Rous, lecturer at Palestine Technical College - Deir Al-Balah.

The two creative students, Ahmed Alaa Ismail and Ismail Mustafa Salem, from Deir al-Balah Industrial Secondary School for Boys, from the Central District, came in second place for designing a rescue robot, while the third place went to the students: Rima Kamal Al-Mashharawi, Mais Muhammad Al-Zard, and Rawan Iyad Ayoub, from the Fahmi Al-Jarjawi School, from the East Gaza Directorate. The World Robot Olympiad competition is a scientific, creative, and cognitive event in which teams from more than (80) countries meet annually to develop creative solutions to challenges that simulate reality by designing and programming a robot capable of performing the required tasks.
