Issam Abdel Razzaq Rashid Abu Bakr (born January 25 , 1957 in Al Nuqra, Kuwait ) is a Palestinian politician and freed prisoner. He was governor of Salfit Governorate between 2010–2014, [3] and governor of Tulkarm Governorate between 2014 and 2023. [4] [5]
Working life [ edit ]
He was born in Al-Naqra, Kuwait, in 1957. He received his primary education between Kuwait and the city of Qalqilya , and studied the preparatory and secondary levels in Nablus . [6] He studied business administration with a minor in psychology at An-Najah National University .
He was secretary of the Fatah movement in Nablus . On April 1, 1997, he was appointed Director General of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior . [7] On March 18, 2003, he was appointed Assistant Undersecretary in the Palestinian Ministry of Interior . [8] On April 11, 2010, he was appointed governor of Salfit Governorate . [3]
On December 29, 2014, he was transferred from his position as governor of Salfit Governorate , and was appointed governor of Tulkarm Governorate . [4]
On December 4 , 2016, he won the Palestinian Revolutionary Council elections , which were held during the seventh conference of the Fatah movement, and became a member of it. [9]
He was referred for retirement from his position as governor of Tulkarm Governorate on August 10, 2023. [5]
Achievements and Awards
Medals
On August 17, 2023, President Mahmoud Abbas awarded him the Star of Merit from the State of Palestine Medal , and handed it to them during his meeting to honor the governors who were retiring on August 20, 2023.
