Information

The Palestinian-Syrian student in Syria, Tala Mahmoud Khalaf, a resident of the Yarmouk camp, won first place in the Syrian Arab Republic in the high school diploma exams in the scientific section, with a score of 2900/2900, according to the results shown yesterday, Wednesday, July 7.

The daughter of Yarmouk, Aya Akram Abbas, also obtained a score of 2866/2900 in the results of the general secondary school scientific stream. The student Taqa Firas Dawa achieved a score of 2888/2900, the Palestinian student Hossam Arabi Sheikh Qassem achieved a score of 2822/2900, and the student Rima Osama Al-Saydi achieved a score of 2809/2900, and all of them are from the displaced people of the Yarmouk camp in the areas of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

This year's success rates in the secondary school certificate exams in Syria reached 52% in the academic stream, and 59% in the scientific stream, a noticeable decline in success rates from what they were in previous years, according to observers, due to the comprehensive collapse the country is witnessing at all standards of living.

It is worth noting that Palestinian students in Syria achieved high results over the previous examination sessions during the years of war, despite the difficult living and security conditions, and the siege and destruction that some camps were subjected to.
