Abla Abu Alba (born in 1950 in the city of Qalqilya , Palestine ) is a Jordanian - Palestinian politician , and she has been the first secretary of the left-leaning Jordanian People's Democratic Party, since August 2010. She is the second woman to lead a Jordanian party in the history of party life in the country. She previously held the position of deputy in the Jordanian House of Representatives (Parliament) since the legislative elections that Jordan witnessed in late 2010. [1] [2]
Professional life [ edit ]
She has been involved in the Palestinian national struggle since 1969 during the emergence of the Palestinian resistance in Jordan following the defeat of June 1967. She participated in establishing the Democratic Front Organization in Jordan from 1974 to 1989.
I was elected as a member of the political bureau of the Jordanian People’s Democratic Party “Hashd” from its first conference, which was held in July 1989 until July 2010.
She was elected to the position of First Secretary of the Jordanian People’s Democratic Party “Hashd” in August 2010. She participated in establishing the Women’s Union in Jordan in 1974 AD, and was elected a member of the Executive Committee of the Union at its fifth national conference in 2008. [3 ]
