Years ago, the young Palestinian woman Rawaa Al-Najjar graduated from university, majoring in nursing, and searched for a job opportunity that suited her, but luck did not help her in light of the harsh conditions that Gazans are enduring in the besieged coastal strip, so she joined the “unemployment queue.”
But Rawaa did not give in to the circumstances and increased her efforts to search for a job opportunity in which she would prove herself and overcome the state of misery that was sweeping around, until she was guided to a project far from her specialty, which is a flower nursery that she supervises herself, so she presented the idea to the Saving the Future Youth Foundation months ago, and the foundation’s management was impressed with the idea. They were approved and supported to start the project.
In her nursery, you are attracted by the roses and flowers, distributed in a beautiful arrangement, and you are most attracted by the coordination of colors on the hands of the Palestinian girl. A tour inside the nursery takes the visitor back to the spring of life due to the beauty of the place, as if the hand of an artist had engraved all those bright colors in it to appear as an artistic painting.
Rawa began training courses related to the environment, agriculture, harvesting roses, the mechanism of transporting them properly from one place to another, and everything related to their cultivation. The young woman in her twenties told Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed: “After completing training courses on agriculture, I started working in the nursery last December. I rented an area of one dunam in the Al-Zana area, east of Khan Yunis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, and established my project on an area of 300 square meters of it.” In January, I brought rose seeds of different types, and planted them in mid-January, and now they have bloomed and grown, and I will begin the promotion and marketing process to ensure the completion of the project that I started months ago.”
The beauty of roses and their pleasant scents fill every corner of the nursery, turning like magic on the soul, giving it a feeling of comfort, reassurance, tranquility and happiness.
The love of flowers was one of the strong motivations for undertaking this project, as roses sow love and lost hope in besieged Gaza. Rawaa says: “I love greenery and flowers and this does not stop from my yard. I am part of the fabric of the people of the Gaza Strip who always strive to embrace beauty. Gaza is beauty and kindness. Gaza is beautiful with its people and their good spirits.”
