Information

In a Palestinian medical achievement, three female medical students at An-Najah National University were able to work on a research project, as part of their graduation project, that deals with the results of sensory spinal anesthesia - epidural analgesia - during natural childbirth on the mother and child.

Through a study that included 281 women from the city of Nablus, the students Abrar Issa, Malak Takruri, and Heba Fayyad were able to refute the false stereotype about the results of sensory spinal anesthesia during natural childbirth, whether on the mother or the child, the most famous of which is that the mother is exposed to paralysis or inflammation, which drives the majority Women of Palestinian society choose to bear the pain of natural childbirth instead of choosing this anesthesia to control the pain, because of this wrong image.

The students came out with scientific results stating that 0% of mothers who took anesthesia during natural childbirth were exposed to paralysis, 0% of them were exposed to infection, and 98% of the research sample advised others to use it during natural childbirth.
