The University of Exeter in Britain awarded Malika a doctorate in politics and international law for her thesis on Palestinian prisoners, entitled “Hunger Strikes in Israeli Prisons 1968-2018, Starving for a Cause: Hunger Strikes by Palestinian Political Prisoners in Israeli Jails” 1968-2018".

“Malaka” had left the Gaza Strip for Britain in 2014 to study a master’s degree in politics and international law. She then insisted on succeeding in her specialty to confront the occupation, which caused her to lose dozens of her family members during the Shuja’iya massacre in the Gaza war in 2014.

She is considered a queen; An activist in the prisoners’ issue and the BDS movement, she is the first Palestinian woman to win one of the eight seats on the British University of Sheffield’s Student Council since its founding in 1905.

In 2014, the Queen of Shuwaikh achieved great success in the University of Sheffield Student Council elections, where she deservedly won first place after a strong competition against 46 candidates, all of them British. She was the only Arab candidate in the elections, after she lectured about her mother cause in more than 35 European cities. .
