Civil engineer Maher Abdel Qader, who resides in the United States of America, won the Gold Award for the Best Architectural Design and Implementation category during an annual ceremony organized in New York State for the best architectural designs in the eastern United States region.
More than 800 presidents and directors of engineering companies in America participate in the ceremony, which is organized by the American Council of Engineers and Consulting Companies (ACEC). Engineer Abdul Qader’s design for the “Bus - Bus - Transportation Station” building in the state of Connecticut was chosen as the best design and implementation in the eastern United States. The building is integrated with all engineering elements (“the large area is 376 thousand square feet”, stopping places, bus service, ventilation, heating, attached services, and employee services, and the building’s reliance on solar energy only to operate and activate its facilities, and taking into account technological development in diagnosing buses and maintaining them with the lowest capabilities and cost).
Engineer Abdul Qader said that winning the Golden Award in the category of Best Architectural Design and Implementation came after the decision of the jury consisting of engineering and architectural experts and related to the engineering form of the project and its provision of the required services for which it was designed and built in an easy, smooth and environmentally friendly manner.
He stated that this is not the first time that he has won an award during his engineering work in the United States from the Council, and four years ago he won the Gold Award for managing the implementation of the restoration project of the longest arch bridge for vehicles and buses that opened in 1936 in the eastern region of America, the “Henry Hudson Bridge.”
