Information

A Palestinian educator and activist, he was born in the city of Jerusalem in 1896. He received his education at the American Colony, followed it at the Bishop’s School in Jerusalem, then completed his university studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the American University of Beirut in 1917, and obtained the degree of professor of science .

In 1920, he was appointed inspector of knowledge management in the Jaffa and Gaza districts, and obtained the rank of professor in education. Then he was appointed Assistant to the General Director of Education .
In the summer of 1923, Ahmed Sameh obtained the degree of professor of science (MA) from the American University of Beirut, after he prepared a thesis on the education systems in Palestine at the end of the Ottoman era .
In the last years of the mandate, Ahmed Sameh was appointed Assistant Director of Education, in addition to his presidency of the Arab College .

The first public work - unofficial - undertaken by Ahmed Sameh Al-Khalidi was to establish the “Committee for Higher Education among Muslims.” Then he began to care about the children of the martyrs of the Great Palestinian Revolution, so in 1939 he established the “General Arab Orphan Committee” and assumed its presidency. This committee supervised the establishment of a model agricultural school for the sons of martyrs in the village of Deir Amr near Jerusalem. It was the first of its kind in the East. It also began establishing a school on similar foundations next to it for the daughters of martyrs .
He left Palestine for Lebanon after declaring the establishment of "Israel" in May 1948, where he directed his activities to help Palestinian refugees and educate their children .

He died in 1951
Al-Khalidi has many books, including :
Education systems, scholars between Egypt and Palestine, the history of Jerusalem. He also published a number of manuscripts .
