Ahmed bin Ali Agha Makki. His family was previously known by the name of her grandfather, and it became a nickname for her. Before that, she was called the Al-Fakhr family, after her great-grandfather, Fakhr al-Din. It is believed that the origin of the family is from Aleppo, and a branch of it came to Gaza in the eleventh century AH, namely Hajj Makki. Bin Muhammad Al-Fakhr.

Ahmed Makki grew up with a love of science, and he took medicine from his father, who worked in this profession until his death in 1849 AD. Ahmed studied the book (The Remembrance of David of Antioch) and (The Law) by Ibn Sina, and Ibn Al-Bitar’s two chapters on the properties of herbs and plants until he excelled in his field.

He traveled to Mecca and resided there for two years, then traveled to Egypt and resided there for several years and returned to Gaza in the year 1873 AD. He was dominated by asceticism and Sufism, and he was famous for his ability to diagnose disease and knowledge of medicine, and he had knowledge in the sciences of anatomy, astronomy, mathematics, wisdom, mysticism, history, literature, poetry, and lineage. .

He did not marry, and continued treating people until his death in 1890.
