Despite immigration and asylum, dozens of Palestinian youth displaced from Syrian camps were able to achieve distinctive innovations and successes in many European countries.
The Palestinian child Khaled Raafat Asaad (11 years old), a refugee from Khan Al-Shih Palestinian refugee camp in the Damascus countryside, arrived in Sweden. He received the Best Narrators Award for the year 2018, which is given by the Swedish News Agency to distinguished writers and novelists.
In his narration, the child Khaled talked about the story of his and his family’s asylum from Syria to Sweden 6 years ago, and the dangers and horrors they were exposed to while riding death boats, wading into the sea, and drowning.
The past eight years following the Syrian war witnessed the migration of thousands of Palestinian refugees from Syria to Lebanon and Europe to escape the war, which destroyed their homes and dreams.
