Information

The difficult living conditions experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip amid the siege prompted Palestinian Marwan Muhareb to invent a way to produce biogas that would meet the needs of his home and provide organic fertilizer for his cultivation.

As a result of the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for twelve years, the price of domestic gas increased, as did the price of fertilizer to feed crops. One warrior came up with this idea of collecting his food scraps and the manure of the livestock he raises on his farm into “biogas,” a way to overcome the hardships of life and the high prices of gas.

Through his innovation, Muhareb succeeded in providing organic fertilizer and household gas to reduce the cost of agriculture and living for himself and hundreds of others in the Gaza Strip.

The idea of producing biogas is based on the fermentation of organic matter (livestock and food waste), which is poured with a little water into a container inside the tank of the home unit. It is decomposed by anaerobic bacteria through sunlight, producing an organic liquid that leaks through a hose extended to the house, forming gas for cooking, and another that is extended to The farm fertilizes the plant organically, not chemically.
