A project by female students from the Chemical Engineering Department at An-Najah National University won second place for the Scientific Research Award presented by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The three students, Amani Al-Hajj Yousef, Aziza Saleem, and Mona Al-Hamad, achieved second place for their research project on a medicinal plant and manufacturing an industrial product from it.
The students raised and harvested the Calendula plant with a beautiful yellow flower, obtained the active substance through appropriate chemical extraction methods in the laboratories of the Chemical Engineering Department, and manufactured a cream product that is effective in treating many skin diseases.
