Hosni Al-Ashhab

The Jerusalemite educator Hosni Al-Ashhab (1915-1999) devoted the fourth part of the book to him and highlighted the importance of his role in leading the conflict with the occupation and its symbols and agents until he was able to rid education in Jerusalem from the clutches of Judaization that the occupation initiated from the first moment to complete the occupation of Jerusalem with its two parts.

When the Buraq Revolution broke out in 1929, Hosni Al-Ashhab was not yet fourteen years old. Like the rest of the students of his generation, he moved from a student demonstrator to a weapon-bearer in defense of himself, his family, his sanctities, and his country.

As a result of his participation in religious marches and demonstrations against the British and Israeli occupiers in his early youth, he gained the ability to organize and lead national activities such as demonstrations and strikes.

With the occupation of the eastern part of the city, Hosni Al-Ashhab said at the time that the Israeliization of the Office of Education and Schools meant the Israeliization of all of Jerusalem, and he devoted himself to resisting the occupation decision and informed a number of education personnel in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and they declared that they would stand with him in all his steps and asked for the support of the audience in his announcement of the strike.

The opening of several schools by the Director of the Education Office of the Islamic Endowments, Hosni Al-Ashhab, had the effect of increasing the exodus of public primary school students to these schools, and this exodus had the greatest impact on the Israeli educational institution taking the decision to teach the Jordanian curriculum in its schools.
