Muhammad Zuhdi Al-Nashashibi (1925 - January 27, 2020), known as Abu Zuhdi, was the first minister of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance in the period between 1994 until June 2002, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization since 1960, and a member He is a member of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization and a member of the Supreme Council of the National Authority for Refugee Camps. He also assumed the presidency of the Palestine National Fund in Amman and Tunisia , and he assumed the presidency of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds University in the period between 2004-2006. 

His life

He was born in Jerusalem in 1925 and belongs to the Nashashibi family. He worked in the Syrian Commercial Bank. He began his career in the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party in the early 1960s. He later became a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization ,and then became head of the Economics Department. He was also the head of the Palestine National Fund .
He returned to Palestine via the city of Jericho after the signing of the Oslo Accords in June 1994, where he was the first member of the Executive Committee to enter Palestine. 

Medals

In May 2018, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas awarded him the Star of Honor Medal, highest class. 

Death

He died on January 27, 2020, at the age of 95.
