Naeem Abu Al-Hummus was the Palestinian Minister of Education in 1996, and continued in his position until 2006. After his resignation, he worked as Secretary-General of the Palestinian Council of Ministers in 2008, until he submitted his resignation in 2011 to former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, to return to his position as a lecturer at the University of Palestine. In 2009, he won the elections of the Palestinian Revolutionary Council held during the sixth conference of the Fatah movement in Bethlehem and became a member of it.
