Information

Muhammad worked on directing a series of films, produced by the Ajyal Foundation for Documentation and Direction, the first of which was the film “The Continuous Nakba”, which deals with the Palestinian Nakba and its tragedy, and in its first show in Sweden, it won the admiration of the viewers.

As for the second movie, “Lubiya Village,” it talks about the Palestinian village of Lubyeh, and the beauty of its nature, which was shown in a great Palestinian activity. The third movie, “Witness to the Siege of Yarmouk,” is a movie that simulates the suffering that lurked in the camp’s refugees after the siege the camp witnessed. The story was narrated by a woman. Those who lived through the siege, the witness Ghazala Mustafa Al-Bash, and the interview was filmed in Germany, a few months after her emigration.

Director Khamis excelled in filmmaking, as he directed three films, “The Letter That Never Dies,” which is about interviews with teachers and students from the schools of the Yarmouk camp, which stresses the importance of the camp’s children continuing their studies, “Strings of Hope,” a short documentary that was filmed in the Yarmouk camp and Germany. "Towards Success" is a short film that simulates the Yarmouk catastrophe and migration to Europe. It included an interview with the plastic artist Yahya Ashmawy from the camp, who recounted his experience and talked about his drawings that he had previously embodied on the walls of the camp.

Most of Muhammad's work focuses on the subject of memory and at the same time on everyday reality. Memory, for him, is the presence of identity in all its manifestations, and memory is the temporary homeland, an alternative to the occupied homeland.

Muhammad explains that the occupation is trying to obliterate the Palestinian identity, and here is the role of the Palestinian person, especially the artist, in preserving history and identity, in addition to humanizing our cause globally through cinema and the rest of the arts.
