An Iraqi actor, singer, and
director of Palestinian origin, he started his artistic career by singing and
playing the guitar with his friends in Al-Hurriya City, where they used to
perform in private parties, and then he quickly moved towards acting. He
performed a number of multiple dramas until he broke into the world of
directing to become a director and actor.
his artistic career
He started his artistic career in
1977 with the movie (The Painting) directed by Carlo Hartion. And then he
gained his wide fame with the great Iraqi director Muhammad Shukri Jamil, who
assigned him a role in the movie (The Walls 1979) and after that he played
various roles in multiple films in the movie (The Cart and the Horse) by
Muhammad Mounir Fenry, and (The Sound of the Sea) and (A Place in Tomorrow).

On television, he presented great
dramatic works, including the series (Wasted Days), which is the first joint
Arab work, and the series (The Eagle and the Eyes of the City), where he played
the character “Atia” Ibn Al-Arabanji, “the artist Sami Abdel Hamid”, and other
series such as (Al-Hajis), (The Violence of Things ), (Who eats fire), and in
1992 he had a distinguished role in playing the character “Abu Alaj” in the
famous Iraqi police series (Wolves of the Night Part 1).

In 1994, the artist, Jalal Kamel,
turned to singing and presented some songs that met with wide success,
including the song (Enough), the song (You deny me with your life), and the
song (By God, you will suffer and be confused).
directing
Jalal Kamel entered the TV
directing experience, but he did not leave the field of acting, but rather
combined it with directing. This is evident in the following series: (A Man
Above Suspicions), (Case 238), (This is Love), (Paradise Hell), (Strangers of
the Night) and (Love First).
He is married to the Iraqi artist,
Sana Abdul Rahman. He miraculously escaped death after he was injured in one of
his legs in late 2012 in a terrorist car bombing near his house in the Karrada
area in central Baghdad.

He participated in acting and
directing the movie “Lake of Pain”, which is the first Iraqi movie to be shown
in American cinemas. The movie is starring Jalal Kamel, Sana Abdel Rahman,
Mazen Muhammad Mustafa, Saad Mohsen, Hamsa Majed and a group of Iraqi stars.
The movie was shown and was one hour and forty minutes long. In a cinema hall
located in the center of the city of Royal Oak in the state of Michigan, USA,
which is frequented by young people, and there are many cinema and theatrical
exhibition halls, and a busy social life.
