Najib Nassar was born in 1865 AD in Ain Anoub, Lebanon. He is a Palestinian writer and journalist. He received his primary education in Choueifat and completed his secondary studies in Souk El Gharb. Then he entered the American University in Beirut and graduated there with a pharmacy degree. Then he went to the city of Safed to train in his brother’s pharmacy. He then worked as an assistant pharmacist at the Scottish Hospital in Tiberias for a short period. After that, Naguib left pharmacy and moved to Jerusalem, where he worked as a teacher in several schools. Then he decided to work in agriculture, so he bought some land in Tiberias.
During his agricultural activity, he learned about the methods of Zionist settlement on farmers, and after that; That is, in 1905 AD, he launched a campaign to introduce the truth about Zionism and its ambitions, and published articles in the newspaper “Al-Mokattam” in Cairo, and “Lisan Al-Hal” in Beirut.
In 1908 AD, Najib Nassar founded the newspaper “Al-Karmel” in Haifa, which began to be published twice a week. He warned of the dangers of Zionism. The Ottoman authorities suspended his newspaper in June 1909 for two months, after a campaign launched by the Zionists against him. By order of the Ministry of Justice in Istanbul in 1910 AD, the Ottoman authorities tried him, but the court acquitted him of charges of dividing elements and inciting ideas.
Naguib Nassar published a collection of articles in the newspaper “Al-Karmel”, which was collected in 1911 AD and published as a booklet entitled “Zionism”: Its History, Purpose, and Importance. In 1913 AD, Naguib called for a conference to be held in Nablus from which a “National Non-Zionist Association” would emerge.
Najib Palestine was active in social and political life in Haifa, and founded the “Arab Economic Renaissance Association.” In early November 1918, he participated in establishing the “Arab Party,” which did not last long. He then joined the Islamic Christian associations that began to form in the cities of Palestine. In 1920, he also called for the establishment of Arab propaganda offices in Europe to reveal the goals and plans of Zionism. He warned against selling lands to Jewish settlers, and he played a national role, until he died in Nazareth in 1948 AD and was buried there.
He has a group of books: “Zionism, Its History, Purpose, and Importance,” in 1911 AD, “Help the Arabs or Shamam al-Arab” in 1920 AD, “Under the Protection of the Arabs” in 1920 AD, “Dry Farming” in 1927 AD, the novel by Mufleh al-Ghassani “in 1931 AD, and The Man In the biography of King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1936 AD.
