Bilal Jadallah (May 1, 1978 - November 18, 2023) is a Palestinian journalist , born in Gaza City. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Press House Foundation in Gaza. He contributed to the establishment of Sawa News Agency. [1]
During his years of work and presidency of the Press House, he concluded several cooperation agreements with foreign and Arab countries within the framework of the Journalists Protection Law, and held training workshops for media staff. He made the Press House a headquarters and refuge for all journalists during the past wars on Gaza and during the Palestinian-Israeli war , and distributed professional safety equipment to journalists in the field covering the war. He was assassinated on November 19, 2023 during an air strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force on his car while he was on his way to the south of Gaza City , during the Israeli response to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood . [3]
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourned Jadallah in a statement in which it said: “This crime and what preceded it confirm that the occupation has placed journalists among its goals to silence the voice of truth that is echoing throughout the earth.” [4]
The government media office in Gaza also mourned him and said: Journalists are a main target among his many goals against our people, as their number reached 60 martyred journalist colleagues, the last of whom were colleagues Sari Mansour and Hassouna Islim.
