Radi Sidqi Saddouk ( February 11 , 1938 - July 20 , 2010 ) was a Palestinian journalist, poet, and writer. He was born in the city of Tulkarm in Palestine. [1] He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language from Cairo University in 1971. He worked as a teacher for two years, then headed to journalistic and media work in newspapers in Jerusalem, Amman, Kuwait, and Rome, and radio stations in Jordan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. He was appointed Director of the Publishing and Communications Department at the Supreme Authority for the Development of Riyadh . He published his poetry in Arab newspapers and magazines. He has many poetry collections and literary and critical works, and he has won a number of Arab and international awards. He died at the age of 72 in Amman. [2] [3] [4]
His biography [ edit ]
“Muhammad Radi” Sidqi Saduq was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank, [5] on February 11, 1938. [6] He received his primary, preparatory, and secondary education in the schools of his city of Tulkarm , and among these schools was the Al-Fadhiliyya School . [7] [8] He obtained a BA in Arabic Language from Cairo University in 1971. He worked in teaching, then in journalism, and served as editor-in-chief of a number of daily newspapers and magazines: editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine Risala al-Urdun issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Information, and editor-in-chief of Hamat al-Watan magazine. The monthly mouthpiece of the Kuwaiti army and armed forces, general director and editor-in-chief of Al-Ayyam newspaper, the first daily newspaper published in the Arabic language in Rome, editor-in-chief of the weekly Al-Raed Al-Arabi magazine . He also established the Kuwaiti weekly newspaper Al- Hadaf in 1961, and the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Watan and Al- Siyasa newspaper , and worked as their editor-in-chief. He also created the monthly Al-Bayan magazine issued by the Kuwaiti Writers Association.
He worked in the media as a cultural advisor to Jordanian Radio, and was seconded with another colleague to establish the Qatari Radio. He also worked in Saudi Radio supervising the management of conversations and culture, from which he was transferred to contribute to the establishment of the Islamic Countries Broadcasting Organization and served as the organization’s program director. He also worked as Director of the Publishing and Communications Department at the Supreme Authority for the Development of Riyadh.
He was a member of the Union of Arab Journalists , the Union of Asian-African Writers, a member of the Arab Society for Strategic Studies in Washington, and a member of the International Islamic Literature Association . [9]

Radi Sadouk received a number of Arab and international awards, including:
Short Story Award for Arab Writers, Lebanon, 1964 . [10] [11]
Saudi Al-Nadwa Newspaper Award , 1969 . [12]
International World Thought Leaders Award, from the European Cultural Council based in Rome, in 1983 , [13] and he is the only Arab to receive this international award. [14]

His death

He died on July 20 , 2010 , corresponding to Shaban 8, 1431 AH , at the age of 72 years in Al Hussein Medical City Hospital in Amman , and was buried in Sahab Cemetery .
