Moataz Hilal Muhammad Al-Azayza (January 30, 1999-) is a Palestinian journalist and influencer . He was born in the city of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from Al-Azhar University in 2021. He then worked as a photographer with the American channel ABC News and has been a volunteer for a year. 2017 at the Palestine Red Crescent Society , [1] and works at UNRWA to document what is happening in Gaza .

15 members of his family were assassinated on October 12, 2023 during an air strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force on his family’s home in the Deir al-Balah camp in Gaza City , during the Israeli response to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood .

Moataz communicates in English with the world through the videos that he publishes on his Instagram account, in which he was filming life in Palestine and the most beautiful places in the Gaza Strip before the 2023 Palestinian-Israeli war , but after October 7, 2023, and because of the Palestinian-Israeli war, Moataz covered what was happening. While many major media organizations have sent reporters to Israel to cover Hamas attacks, a small number of foreign correspondents are in Gaza to cover Israeli war crimes ; This is what made him and a number of reporters in the field available to prepare reports about what was happening live.

The number of his followers on the Instagram platform increased from 25,000 followers to one million, and by October 30, 9 million people were following him. Then, on November 3, the number of his followers increased to 13 million followers, and his account was restricted because of what he published.

“Super Hero” is a nickname given to him by social media pioneers . For his courage, despite the simplicity of his tools, which consisted of a jacket and a helmet for journalists. He wrote the phrase “My pictures have traveled all over the world, but my feet have never set foot in my homeland” on his account and it became a hashtag.
