Dr. Ahmed Al-Khawaja is an assistant professor with a distinguished academic background in physical education. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Helwan University, Egypt, in 1979, followed by a diploma in Teaching Methods from the University of Jordan in 1991. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's degree in Organization and Management in Physical Education from the University of Jordan in 1994, and later completed his doctoral studies in Curriculum and Methods of Physical Education at the Sudan University of Science and Technology in 2007.
Dr. Al-Khawaja's professional journey is marked by significant achievements and contributions to the field of sports education. Since 2000, he has served as a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Physical Education at Al-Quds University. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Department of Physical Education at the university in 1999-2000 and has held multiple terms as its department head. He also initiated the establishment of the Physical Education Department at Burj Al-Laqlaq in the Old City of Jerusalem in 2012-2013.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Khawaja has extensive experience as a football coach for clubs in Jordan and Palestine from 1979 to 2009. He has also held leadership positions in various sports organizations, including serving as the Vice President of the Palestinian Fencing Federation for two consecutive terms since 2000, and as a member of the National Teams Committee for the Palestinian Football Association from 2003 to 2006. In 2008, he assumed the role of Technical Committee Chairman at the Palestinian Football Association.
In addition to his academic and professional endeavors, Dr. Al-Khawaja has conducted notable research in the field of sports education, focusing on topics such as psychological readiness of players in university league clubs, proposed programs for the elderly in Saudi Arabia, and student attitudes towards field training in physical education colleges in Jordan.
Dr. Al-Khawaja has authored the book "Fundamentals of Sports Training," first edition published by Wael Publishing House in 2005. He has also actively participated in conferences and symposiums, presenting papers and sharing insights on various aspects of sports education and performance in Palestinian universities.
