Information

Ahmed Duams, an assistant professor at Al-Quds University, has been dedicated to academic and administrative roles since 1999. He taught courses in grammar, morphology, language, and phonetics at the Faculty of Arts for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, he taught grammar and morphology courses at the College of Da'wa and Fundamentals of Religion, as well as Quranic studies. He also covered other subjects such as rhetoric, prosody, literary text appreciation, Arabic language acquisition, and the art of writing and expression.

Duams authored two books on Arabic grammar and supervised numerous scientific dissertations within the department, both participating in and reviewing research for scientific journals. He has presented his research nationally and internationally.

In terms of administration, he served as a coordinator and head of the department, as well as for the master's program in Arabic language and contemporary Islamic studies.

He obtained his bachelor's degree in Arabic language sciences from Birzeit University with distinction in 1995, and then pursued his master's degree in syntax and morphology from Al al-Bayt University in 1999. His dissertation focused on the diwan of Al-Hatia from a morphological, structural, and semantic perspective. Subsequently, he completed his Ph.D. at the Sudan University of Science and Technology in 2005, with a thesis titled "Sentence Structure Patterns in Modern Palestinian Poetry: A Study of the Works of Rashed Hussein, Ibrahim Touqan, and Burhan Al-Aboushi" focusing on syntax.

Prior to his tenure at Al-Quds University, he worked as an Arabic language teacher at the Ministry of Education for the academic year 1998-1999. Since joining Al-Quds University, he has held various teaching positions continuously. He has also served as a part-time faculty member at Birzeit University from 2003 to 2013, and at the Palestine Technical College in 2012-2013.

His academic interests span a wide range of linguistic topics including syntax, morphology, rhetoric, writing skills, text analysis, library science, and lexicography.

Duams has prepared several research papers for publication, including studies on syntactic structures in Al-Shafi'i's diwan, folk songs in the village of Deir Ammar, morphological evidence in Al-Hatia's poetry, the use of language in the Quran, and Palestinian folk proverbs.
