Information

Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Amr is an Assistant Professor in Islamic Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology at Al-Quds University since 2000. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Archaeology from the University of Granada, Spain, with a thesis on "Decorative Arts in the Alhambra Palaces." Abu Amr served as the director of the institute from 2009 to 2015.

He is actively involved in archaeological research and excavation at the sites of Khirbet Beit Bassa (Beit Sahur) and Beit 'Ania (Al-Eizariya). Abu Amr held the position of director of the "Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Project in the Mediterranean Basin from 2011 to 2015 (Archeomed)", and led a research group in the "EuroMed Project - Byzantine Period and Early Islamic Period" from 2006 to 2007, among other projects and participations.

Abu Amr has published numerous research papers in the field of archaeology.
