Information

Born in 1954, is the Chairman of the Board of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, a professor at the University of Jordan, and a former Minister of Education and Higher Education in Jordan. Toukan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (1971-1976) from the American University of Beirut. Master's degree in nuclear engineering and nuclear fusion from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Nuclear Engineering, Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering.

He returned from the United States and worked for the year (1982-1983) at Yarmouk University, as an assistant professor in the College of Engineering, then left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the period (1985-1986) at the Petroleum University, then returned to the University of Jordan to work there for ten years (1987 1997) in the Department of Industrial Engineering, and a professor in 1997 who was promoted to where he became at the same time as his promotion decisively to Al-Balqa University.

Gandhi Medal for Peace from the Director General of UNESCO.

The French Legion of Honor (Commander Rank) from the President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac.

German Medal of Honor (Commander Rank) from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler.
