The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Freeman” chain of stores, the young businessman Tariq Hamada, provided logistical support to needy students in Palestinian universities, and revealed that he is working on a strategy whose goal is to help students who suffer from difficult economic conditions, in addition to supporting Palestinian universities and providing them with basic needs related to the students.
He stressed that he met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University of Palestine, Engineer Imad Al-Agha, and was briefed on the educational process, calling for the need for the private sector to come together to support education. He pointed out that the end of the meeting included agreement on some basic items that would establish several understandings and cooperation between them.
He noted that he would allocate a fund to support Palestinian university students in order to advance education on sound foundations that guarantee the right of every Palestinian student who was unable to complete his studies due to the social and economic conditions witnessed by the Gaza Strip, which has been suffering from a stifling siege since mid-2006, in addition to being exposed to three wars. It destroyed all aspects of social, economic and industrial life, halted production, and cast a shadow over the high rates of unemployment in the sector.
