Information

Amidst the suffering in the Gaza Strip, stories of success and creativity are born in many fields. Engineer Majd Al-Mashharawi (25 years old) was one of those who dedicated their lives to fulfilling their wishes. Years ago, Al-Mashharawi visited Japan, and what caught her attention most was the lighting and lights in its streets, which she made an incentive to invent something when she returned to the Gaza Strip. She enrolled in civil engineering at the Islamic University and graduated in 2016 AD. She initially worked on the “Green Geeks” project, which is the innovation of environmentally friendly building stones, by producing building stone from coal ash that competes with regular building stones available in the local market. She says: “At the beginning of establishing the company with my colleagues, and because there was more than one solar energy company, we worked by focusing on families because they are considered the group that needs electricity the most, and since we are young and our energies are renewable, and with the high unemployment rate in the sector, we decided to exploit this energy to do something that benefits the society in which we live.” In it, we came out with “Sun Box in 2017”. Al-Mashharawi continues her talk to the “Felesteen” newspaper, saying that she produces small systems to produce solar energy for home use, and she developed the systems based on something basic, and conducting research on solar panel producers. She added: I traveled as far as Japan to choose rechargeable batteries and work to sell the systems at the lowest possible price, with the aim of providing assistance to the largest possible number of residents of the Strip. Regarding the company’s most prominent achievements, Al-Mashharawi says that it was able to provide more than 1,400 people with solar energy on a scale of others, and to implement a project that was completed two weeks ago, which was the creation of 20 solar energy systems for twenty desalination plants in the Gaza Strip from north to south, and to provide job opportunities for more than 25 people. . Al-Mashharawi mentions that she received the Muhammad Ali Award from the American Track, and the Emirates Bronze Energy Award from the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai. She points out that the most difficult difficulty she faced was the lack of a system that supports entrepreneurs in the Gaza Strip, not to mention the main problem of the crossing. Because all the materials come from the Israeli side, and this requires longer time and more effort, in addition to the difficulty of transferring money at home and abroad, and the community’s lack of acceptance of the work. Because it includes a group of young men and women. Al-Mashharawi says: “My family is the main support and support for the success of the project, and I do not forget my loved ones and friends at home and abroad who also had a role in that success.” “The only thing that makes your dreams come true is you and no one else.” With these words, Al-Mashharawi advises women not to despair, adding: “People’s respect for you depends on the extent of your success in life.” Al-Mashharawi aspires to establish a union for Palestinians concerned with such fields in the Gaza Strip and outside it, in addition to opening the field of work for them in the occupied West Bank.
