Businessman Hasib Sabbagh, known as “Master Hasib,” was born in Tiberias, Palestine, in 1920, and grew up in Safed, where he lost his father early.
But ambition led him to Jerusalem, where he completed his secondary studies in 1938 at the Arab College before moving to the American University of Beirut, where he graduated in 1941 as a civil engineer. He returned to Palestine and became involved in the field of contracting and construction. He founded, in Haifa, with others, a contracting company called " "Consolidated Contractors" is the name that he would regain in 1952 after the Nakba of Palestine and the necessity of moving with his family to Beirut, so that the name CCC became the title and franchise mark of one of the most prominent international contracting and construction companies, and he founded it in partnership with his relative and son-in-law, Saeed Al-Houri and Kamel Abdel Rahman. Starting from Ras Beirut, where Sabbagh Bank was opened at the beginning of Hamra Street.
Al-Sabbagh is considered one of the founders of the Arab Cultural Club in Beirut, which brought together Arab intellectuals, and from this club the idea of establishing the Arab Nationalists Movement was launched, which spread organizationally in various Arab countries and whose Palestinian branch later became the “Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine” led by Dr. George Habash, and its branch The Lebanese party became the Arab Socialist Labor Party, led by Hussein Hamdan.
Businessman Hasib Al-Sabbagh is considered an example of social giving, especially in Palestine and Lebanon. When the company was forced to move its headquarters from Beirut to Athens due to the war, he responded to the Lebanese plight by establishing the “Center for Islamic-Christian Understanding” for studies at Georgetown University in the United States. In loyalty to his wife, Diana Tamari, who passed away early in 1978, he founded the Diana Tamari Foundation, which helps health, charitable, and university institutions around the world.
He also established several charitable institutions, including the Hasib Al-Sabbagh Center for Excellence in Information Technology at the Arab American University in Jenin, the Hasib Al-Sabbagh Residence for female students at Palestine Technical University Kadoorie in Tulkarm, the Hasib Al-Sabbagh Square in downtown Tulkarm, the Hasib Al-Sabbagh School in Nablus, and the Hasib Al-Sabbagh Hospital in Ram. The Lebanese National Cedar Medal, with the rank of Knight, in 1970

And the Palestinian Star of Bethlehem Medal in 2000.
He died on January 11, 2010 in New York and was buried in Beirut.
