Sheikh Rida Khalil Darwaza was born in Nablus and studied in its traditional schools and the religious school located in the rooms attached to the Al-Ain (Al-Beik) Mosque. He continued his studies at the Al-Ahmadiyya Sharia School in Acre. He was a memorizer of the Holy Quran and a skilled reciter. He preferred working in trade to government jobs. He became famous for his knowledge of traditional Arabic medicine and for prescribing herbs to patients, especially infertile men and women.
