Sheikh Ali bin Hamad Khashan (1357 AH / 1938 AD - 1434 AH / 2012 AD) is one of the people of knowledge and the Salafist call in Syria. He was born in Kafr Kanna in Nazareth in Palestine, and he emigrated from it to Syria and then to the Gulf countries, and he died in Doha on the 21st. Muharram 1434 AH corresponding to December 5, 2012 AD.

Ali Khashan was born in the town of Kafr Kanna, one of the towns of the Nazareth District in Palestine. He immigrated with his father in the year of the Nakba to Syria and settled there, and completed his primary and post-graduate studies in Damascus, and graduated from its university in the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, and worked in the field of teaching. She was a student of the hadith scholar Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani while he was in middle school, and he married the daughter of Sheikh Muhammad Naji Abu Ahmad, who is a brother of Sheikh al-Albani. He was accompanying Al-Albani on his missionary trips in the Levant with Muhammad Eid Abbasi. Al-Albani had revived the year of the Eid prayer in the chapel, and Ali Khashan took over the sermon in the Eid chapel, alternately with Muhammad Eid Abbasi. He has a treatise condemning sectarian fanaticism, titled The Obligation to Refer to the Book and the Sunnah and the Danger of Imitation.

 

He was forced to leave Syria for the Gulf, and he worked in Qatar as a teacher at the Institute of Imams and Preachers, and as a preacher in the mosque of the northern city of Khalifa from the end of the year 1399 AH corresponding to the year 1979 AD until the beginning of the year 1404 AH corresponding to the year 1984 AD, and he went to Sudan to preach on scholarship from the Department of Fatwa, Call and Guidance headed by Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz in the year 1404 AH corresponding to the year 1984 AD, and he resided in the city of Al-Obeid in Kordofan, and he had a good impact on the advocacy and relief levels. Because of circumstances, he and his family met him in Sudan, where he worked in Dubai as a preacher in a center for call and guidance affiliated with the Departments of Scholarly Research, Ifta, Call and Guidance.

 

He remained in Dubai, teaching in its mosques and preaching in the Ibn Ali Mosque in Dubai. He also lectured in various places in the UAE until the year 1411 AH corresponding to the year 1991 AD when he responded to Abdul Aziz bin Baz on the subject of “seeking help from the infidels”, and he was subsequently dismissed from his work in the Call and Guidance Center. And he had sent this message to Ibn Baz, and the relationship between them remained good, and he visited him in Mecca and Riyadh until his death. He had efforts to facilitate the marriage of young men in Syria and other countries.

 

After terminating his contract with the fatwa, he had advocacy efforts in the republics of the former Soviet Union in coordination with others, and he continued to hesitate between them and the Emirates, then he moved to the State of Qatar in the year 1415 AH, and he remained there teaching and preaching until his death. And Muhammad Lutfi Al-Sabbagh mentioned him in an article of his lamentation, “that he was one of the most brilliant students of Al-Albani, and that he was an outreach to his brothers and colleagues, and that he was generous with a hand, interested in the affairs of Muslims, adhering to the Salafi approach until his death.”

He fell severely while praying the night prayers in his house, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital, and he died shortly after his arrival at the hospital, on Wednesday morning at 7 am Doha time on Muharram 21 1434 AH corresponding to December 5, 2012 CE. Mesaimeer.
