Information

Sheikh Hulusi Bseiso was born in Gaza City in 1327 AH (1909 AD). He completed his primary education in his city, then joined Al-Azhar, where he obtained a high degree in Arabic literature. In 1932, he returned to Palestine, where he was appointed as a teacher of religion and Arabic language at Hebron High School, during which he obtained the Higher Teachers’ Certificate in Palestine.
Because of his national activity, he was transferred to Beersheba Preparatory School by decision of the British Mandate authorities, and in 1949 he was transferred to the Sharia judiciary, where he was appointed as a Sharia judge for the Gaza Court, then a managing member of the Supreme Sharia Court of Appeal. He participated in the committee for revising Sharia laws and procedures, preaching and guidance, and contributed to the editing of “Nour al-Yaqin” magazine, a religious and cultural magazine, the first issue of which was published in December 1962, was published in Gaza by the “Society for the Memorization of the Holy Qur’an.”
Sheikh Hulusi was a scholar of language, literature, and jurisprudence. If he was asked about a linguistic issue, he would give a satisfactory answer. His meetings would delve into issues of science and literature and work to spread Islamic advocacy, pride in Arab heritage, and defend the Palestinian cause. The Sheikh was also famous for his eloquent impromptu speeches and valuable lectures.
Sheikh Hulusi Bseiso died on April 26, 1965 and was buried in his hometown.
Among his works:
1. Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, the first part of Surat Al-Baqarah, in collaboration with Mr. Muhammad Awad, editor-in-chief of “Noor Al-Yaqin” magazine, published in the aforementioned magazine.
