Hani Abdel Hakim Suleiman Masdar ( Abu Al-Abed ; April 14, 1981 – January 6, 2024) is a Palestinian athlete and coach , born and raised in the village of Al-Masdar in the central Gaza Strip. He studied at Al-Manfaluti Secondary School for Boys and obtained his high school diploma from Khalid bin Al-Walid Secondary School for Boys in Al-Nuseirat. He was a former player and coach of the Palestinian Olympic football team . He also supervised the training of several Palestinian teams, most notably Al-Aqsa, Khidmat Al-Nuseirat, and Ittihad Deir Al-Balah, which he led to promotion to the Palestinian First Division League, before supervising the Olympic team. 

Sports career

Al-Masdar started his career as a player in the ranks of Al-Maghazi Club, then joined the ranks of the Gaza Sports Club until he retired from playing in 2018. Hani Al-Masdar did not leave the Gaza Strip during his professional career to continue his work as a coach and achieve a remarkable achievement with “Ittihad Deir Al-Balah” after he promoted them from the second division to the first division league for clubs in the southern governorates. 

In 2021, the exporter joined the national Olympic team as a coach in the technical staff led by Captain Ihab Abu Jazzar .

He also participated in many stations with the Olympic "Fedayeen", most notably the Asian qualifiers in 2021 in Jordan, 2023 in Bahrain, the 2023 West Asian Championship held in Iraq, the 2023 Arab Games in Algeria, and the 2023 Asian Games in China.
