Ahmed Abu Khater is an American urban planning expert, athlete, and architect of Palestinian origin from the city of Rafah. He holds a PhD in Regional Planning from the University of Texas, a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

He has held positions such as Global Director of Software Products at Pitney Bowes, a role at the American Institute for Environmental Systems Research, Director of the Geographic Information Systems Institute, as well as Director and Lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin.

Ahmed Abu Khater is also the first athlete to represent Palestine in the World Association of Benchers and Deadlifters (WABDL). He competed in the World Powerlifting Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2006. In November 2007, he represented Palestine again at the World Championship in Anaheim, California, where he won first place and set a new world record for Palestine.
