Information
Raed Zidan is a Palestinian athlete and mountaineer from the village of Kafr Laqif in the Qalqilya district. On May 24, 2013, he successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the second Palestinian to do so after the Palestinian climber Suzanne Al Houby.
Raed Zidan also succeeded in reaching the highest peaks on six continents, raising the Palestinian flag on each of them. These include:
- Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
- Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica.
- Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, located in the Russian Caucasus.
- Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America, located in the Andes mountain range.
- Mount Kosciuszko, the highest mountain in Australia.
