Rabhi Jumaa Haloum Hijazi (born July 2, 1939 in Al-Mazra'a Al-Sharqiya ) is a Palestinian politician and diplomat , and a former member of the Fatah movement , its Revolutionary Council , and the Palestinian National Council . 

Academic achievement

He was born in the village of Al-Mazra'a ash-Sharqiya, northeast of Ramallah. His mother died when he was six years old and his father was martyred in 1949. He received his primary education at Al- Mazra'a ash-Sharqiya School , and completed his secondary education at Al-Hashemite School in Al- Bireh in 1957. He obtained a BA in Arts from Cairo University in 1962, a MA in Political Science from the American University in Cairo in 1964, a PhD in International Relations from the American University in Ankara in 1983, and a PhD in Political Science from Bandung Islamic University in Indonesia in 1991. 

Practical life

In the period 1962–1963, he worked as a commentator on Sawt al-Arab and Baghdad radio stations. 
From 1968 to 1971, he served as Director of the Department of Information in Dubai, UAE . 
In 1972–1973, he was director of the PLO office in Brazil . 
In 1976–1977, he was director of the PLO office in Afghanistan . 
In 1978–1979, he was director of the Palestine Liberation Organization office in the UAE . 
From 1979–1990, he was director of the PLO office in Turkey . 
In 1990–1991, he was Director of the PLO Office in Indonesia . 
In 1991, he resigned from all his positions in the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah movement in protest against the Palestinian leadership's position on participating in the Madrid Peace Conference , where he was a member of the Palestinian National Council and the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement and deputy head of the political department in the organization. 

Poetry compositions

"The Dark Giant" was published in 1962.
"The Flood" was published in 1969.

Personal life

Rabhi Haloum is married and has five children. His mother died when he was seven years old in 1946, and his father was martyred during the battles of 1949 when he was nine years old.
