Dr. Zaher Nazzal is a Consultant in Community Medicine with extensive academic and professional experience. He completed his PhD at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar from 2005 to 2009. His doctoral thesis focused on "Measles surveillance in Qatar, 2008: Quality of surveillance data and timeliness of notification," and his specialization was in Community Medicine, with a particular interest in infectious diseases and surveillance systems.
Dr. Nazzal also holds a Bachelor's degree in General Medicine from Istanbul University, where he attended the Cerrahpasa College of Medicine between 1992 and 1999.
He completed his high school education at Sabastia Secondary School in Palestine from 1987 to 1990.
In terms of his career history, Dr. Nazzal has held various academic and clinical positions. Since August 23, 2020, he has been an Assistant Professor in Community Medicine at An-Najah National University in Palestine. In the same year, he contributed to efforts in combating and limiting the spread of infectious diseases while working with the Supreme Council of Health in Qatar. Additionally, he served as a resident and Community Medicine Specialist at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar during the same time period. Earlier in his career, Dr. Nazzal worked as a general medicine practitioner with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
