Sophia Rimawi: A Palestinian researcher and educator from the city of Ramallah, currently serving as the Acting Director General of the National Institute for Educational Training in Palestine. She achieved a remarkable milestone for Palestinian women by winning the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Research at the Arab world level, under the category of Outstanding Educational Performance. She also won the Khalifa Award for Education in its 8th cycle (2014/2015) for Best Research in the Arab World – in the General Educational Research category – for her study titled “The Contribution of a Task- and Experience-Based Training Model in Enhancing the Leadership Competencies of School Principals in Palestinian Schools in the West Bank.” She was honored in a grand ceremonial celebration.
