Ali Hassan Rashid: An Italian politician of Palestinian origin, whose roots go back to the village of Lifta in the Jerusalem district. He studied medicine in Italy and was the president of the General Union of Palestinian Students in Italy. Ali Hassan Rashid won membership in the Italian Parliament in 2007, becoming the first Arab to reach the seat of Parliament in Italy.
