Khaled Dudin (July 1, 1966-) is a Palestinian politician who has served as Governor of Hebron since March 2024. He previously held a series of administrative and financial positions in the Hebron Governorate and the Palestinian Authority .
His biography
Khaled Abdel Aziz Taha Doudin was born in the village of Abda near Dura on July 1, 1966. He pursued studies in management and organization, obtaining a diploma in management from the Modern Community College in Ramallah in 1992, a bachelor's degree in business administration from Hebron University in 1999, and then a master's degree in management from the same university in 2018. Doudin worked in the office of the Palestinian Prime Minister , where he managed the audit department and supervised administrative and financial affairs, which gave him experience in governance, auditing , and oversight of the public sector.
In 2012, he was appointed Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the Hebron Governorate , a position he held until 2018. He then served as Deputy Governor of Hebron from October 2018 until August 2023. During the transitional period from August 2023 to March 2024, Doudin served as Acting Governor of Hebron. On March 3, 2024, a presidential decree appointed him Governor of Hebron.
His professional life
According to the Hebron Governorate website, the governor possesses ministerial powers over the administrative affairs of his governorate's employees and oversees the implementation of laws, regulations, and directives issued by the President and the Cabinet. The governor is also responsible for maintaining public order, security, public health, and morals, as well as protecting citizens' freedoms and rights. He chairs the Executive Council, the Planning and Organization Committee, the Security Committee, and the Advisory Council. In cases of crimes witnessed in flagrante delicto, he may act as a judge; in other cases, he refers them to the Public Prosecutor. The governor supervises all administrative levels within the governorate and may delegate some powers to his deputy.
During his tenure as acting governor (August 2023 – March 2024), Doudin maintained administrative continuity in Hebron under difficult circumstances, monitoring local services and public needs during a period of escalating tensions. After his official appointment, he played an active role in public, diplomatic, and development initiatives. He also repeatedly criticized Israeli closure policies and the sealing off of Hebron's gates, warning that they "strangle all aspects of life" and harm economic activity.
He also participated in official visits and institutional cooperation. In May 2025, Doudin hosted Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and several government ministers at meetings held in Hebron to discuss coordination and development programs. That same month, Doudin accompanied the Prime Minister on a visit to the Al-Arroub branch of the Palestinian Technical University , emphasizing the government's support for higher education in the region.
In April 2025, Archimandrite Vasyan (Zmaev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in the Holy Land, was hosted by the Palestinian Authority, in the presence of the Presidential Higher Committee for Church Affairs. During that meeting, he affirmed the Palestinian Authority's commitment to protecting church property and deepening cooperation with Christian institutions. When a fire broke out at the Russian Orthodox Church of Metochion in Hebron in August 2025, Dodin visited the site, inspected the damage, ordered enhanced security measures, announced the arrest of four suspects, and pledged to pursue the case legally and through security channels.
In September 2025, following an attack by settlers on citizens in Hebron, Doudin visited the injured at Al-Ahli Hospital andThe governor visited Al-Mizan in Hebron to check on their condition and express his solidarity with them. He also makes occasional local visits. For example, in mid-2025, the governor visited families in different neighborhoods, conveying greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas and emphasizing that people with disabilities are among the government's priorities.
During an official visit by a British delegation to Hebron aimed at "seeing the facts on the ground," Doudin accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Old City and Shuhada Street , drawing attention to closed shops, the impact of settlers, and the challenges faced by residents. He urged the international visitors to support lifting restrictions on settlements and ending the siege on parts of the city.
