Ibrahim Shaker Mahmoud Khreisheh (January 1, 1966) is a Palestinian politician, born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm. He is the Secretary General of the Second Palestinian Legislative Council, and a member of the Fatah Movement's Revolutionary Council.

 

His upbringing and education

Ibrahim Shaker Mahmoud Khreisheh was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank on January 1, 1966. He received his primary, preparatory, and secondary education in the schools of his city, Tulkarm. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Birzeit University in 1996, then a Master’s degree in International Studies in 2001 from the same university. He also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law in 2012 from Al-Quds University.

In 2000, he worked as a coordinator for the Palestinian Legislative Council committees, then in early 2006 he became a general rapporteur of the Legislative Council. On February 14, 2006, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree appointing him Secretary-General of the Palestinian Legislative Council. Tulkarem internal crisis 2016

In the summer of 2016, an internal crisis erupted in the city of Tulkarem between Fatah movement on the one hand, and the security services under the directives of then-Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, who resides in the city of Tulkarem, on the other. Against the background of the electricity crisis in the municipality of Tulkarm. Where the Palestinian security services carried out massive arrest campaigns targeting Fatah movement cadres in the city after they published posts on the social networking site “Facebook” about the electricity crisis, the government and its prime minister, Rami Hamdallah. In light of this, dozens of Fatah cadres submitted their resignations from their official duties in the movement in protest of the situation.

 

On the evening of Thursday, August 4, 2016, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas chaired an urgent meeting to follow up on the crisis, and issued a decision to conclude an immediate agreement between the Fatah movement in Tulkarem and the security services. , and arresting the instigators from all sides, but the agreement soon failed on the next morning (Friday, August 5, 2016) after the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ibrahim Khreisheh, was beaten and pepper gas was sprayed on him in front of his house in the city of Tulkarm, after the Palestinian security forces raided the neighborhood. with which he lives in Madinah, to transfer Khreishah to the Zakat Hospital in Madinah.
