Information

Linda Sobh Ali (1968 in Ramallah - ) Palestinian diplomat and politician.

Birth and working life
Born in Ramallah in 1968, she has lived in the United States, where she was Chair of the Palestinian American Congress. She worked with the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2010 and 2011, where she was the acting representative of the Palestinian National Authority to Canada. During her tenure, Stephen Harper's government refused to recognize the state of Palestine. In October 2011, Sobh shared a post on Twitter that included a video of a Palestinian girl reading a poem that the Canadian government deemed offensive to Jews and declaring Sobh not welcome and ordering her to leave the country. Sobh expressed regret over the incident and tendered her resignation from the position. Later, Salah Basmala of the Faculty of Translation at the University of Ottawa said that the poem was about fighting Zionism, not against the Jewish people.

On October 2, 2013, Sobh was appointed as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Venezuela and held the rank of Senior Adviser. In 2015, she was elevated to the rank of ambassador. In November 2016, Subuh presented her credentials as a non-resident ambassador of the State of Palestine to Guyana.

On February 13, 2020, she handed over her credentials as non-resident ambassador of the State of Palestine to Saint Kitts and Nevis. On November 11, 2022, she also handed over her credentials as non-resident ambassador of the State of Palestine to Grenada.
